Winter glass replacement at Leeds City College with the Winlet 375

Glazing replacement projects are demanding at the best of times.

When the work is spread across multiple buildings, takes place through winter, and includes heavy glass elements such as fins, contractors need equipment that helps keep lifting and installation safe, controlled and efficient.

That was the case at Leeds City College, where AR Group completed a multi-building glass replacement project across six interconnected buildings. For a scheme involving large glazed units and heavy glass fins, equipment such as the Winlet 375 gives installation teams a practical way to lift, move and install panels on site with greater precision and less reliance on manual handling.

The Winlet 375 is built for exactly this kind of work. With a maximum lifting capacity of 375kg, compact dimensions and controlled hydraulic movement, it helps operators handle glass safely in more restricted working areas. On refurbishment work, that can make a significant difference, especially when programmes need to keep moving through tougher winter conditions.

At G1 George Square in Glasgow, AR Group used a Winlet glazing robot to support the replacement of 69 full-height glazing panels on a landmark office building, working alongside AKP Scotland and Pyroguard. Together, these projects show how the right glazing robot can support contractors to achieve safe, efficient glass installation across a wide range of sites and specifications.
