Modern glazing projects are getting more complex with large, heavy glazing panels requiring manoeuvering across site site and then installing precisely into position
We’ve extolled the virtues of the Winlet Glazing robot for a while now, but this time we’ve left it to one of the UK’s leading installers – using their Winlet 785 on a busy site to position large glass units accurately and safely.
In their own words, Glam Façade Installation describe the Winlet 785 as a “game changer”, adding that they have “worked with all similar machines but Winlet beats them all.” The robot’s ability to lift and hold very large panels that would normally demand several people to handle means the glass can be brought into position and held steady while installers focus on setting, fixing, and sealing. This combination of capacity and control is particularly useful where access is tight or repetition over long elevations would otherwise lead to fatigue.
Glam Facade’s crew use the Winlet’s precise hydraulic controls to make fine adjustments, allowing millimetre-accurate placement without repeated manual pushing or lifting. By taking the weight of the glass, the 785 helps reduce the risk of manual handling injuries and limits the potential for damage to expensive façade units.
