Ball Packaging, one of the UK’s leading drinks can manufacturers, has recently added a Valla V36R pick & carry crane to its Wakefield factory. This compact and versatile crane is already proving its value, providing crucial support for plant maintenance while navigating some of the tightest spaces on site.

With a three-section telescopic boom, the Valla V36R offers big capability in a compact footprint. Rated for up to 3.6 tonnes, it can lift 800 kg at its maximum height of 7.5 metres and handle 500 kg out at a 4.75 metre radius. The optional hydraulic swingaway extension pushes the tip height to 8.6 metres and delivers reach to just over 6 metres, making it ideal for demanding tasks across the factory floor, even where working room is limited.

The V36R’s fully electric operation (80v/300Ah battery), 180-degree rear steering, and remote controls keep it easy to operate in busy production areas, with a narrow 900 mm width and tight 2.15 metre turning radius. In a facility producing eight million cans a day, and with 50% of Coca-Cola’s UK packaging coming from Ball, minimising downtime and maintaining safety is critical.

Hird Sales role as UK distributor ensures Ball Packaging benefits from robust aftercare and expert advice
