Heavy, awkward materials are a daily reality in many production environments, and IJ Pipe A/S in Denmark is no exception. Long steel pipe packages, around six metres in length and weighing close to 800kg, have to be moved regularly through their factory, historically putting significant physical strain on the team.
To ease that burden, IJ Pipe A/S tested the Ergomover Wireless electric transport trolley for internal handling.
Pipe bundles were loaded directly onto the flatbed by forklift and guided through the building using the wireless remote, rather than being pushed or dragged into position.
Removing the traditional drawbar gives clear access for long loads, while the operator walks alongside with full visibility and control of travel and lifting functions.
The Ergomover Wireless can carry up to 1,500kg, so IJ Pipe has ample capacity for current and future pipe sizes. Foam-filled, puncture-proof wheels and four‑wheel steering support controlled movement in tight aisles, and battery power keeps noise and emissions to a minimum indoors.

Overall, the Ergomover reduces manual effort, cuts fatigue, and helps lower the risk of handling injuries during routine material movements.
IJ Pipe A/S is based in Gram, in Denmark’s Syddanmark region, and specialises in the production and supply of steel pipe products for industrial customers. Operating from its site on Industrivej, the company focuses on repeatable quality and reliable delivery, where efficient, safe internal logistics are an important part of keeping production flowing.
Solutions like the Ergomover Wireless demonstrate how relatively small changes in material handling can have a noticeable impact on day-to-day operations, supporting both throughput and the wellbeing of the people doing the work.
