Compact mini crane lifts heavy equipment while minimising factory disruption 

A recent factory lift carried out by a UK mini crane rental company in Milton Keynes shows how Valla pick and carry cranes can unlock complex machine moves in very confined spaces. Instead of stripping out equipment or halting production for a large mobile crane, the team used a compact Valla pick and carry crane to work inside the building, thread between existing machinery, and complete the lift with minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.

On this project, the challenge was to remove and reposition heavy plant within a busy manufacturing area, where aisles, columns, and existing kit left very little room to manoeuvre. A Valla pick and carry crane was brought in specifically because its narrow chassis and tight turning radius allowed it to travel along internal routes that a conventional crane simply could not use. Once in position, the crane could “pick” the load and then carry it carefully through the factory in a single, controlled operation, keeping downtime to a minimum and allowing surrounding processes to continue.

For maintenance teams and production managers, this approach reduces the need for dismantling, temporary works, or extended shutdowns. It also helps keep lifting activity closer to the actual work area, rather than relying on external cranes working at long radii through doorways or roof openings.

Valla V46R 

The Valla V46R is a fully electric, radio‑controlled pick and carry crane designed for heavy lifting in confined industrial spaces. With a maximum capacity of 4.6 tonnes and a boom reach of up to 7.5m, it delivers strong lifting performance in a compact footprint. Measuring approximately 2.47m long, 0.90m wide and 1.56m high, the crane can pass through narrow routes and work close to the load, making it ideal for indoor machinery moves and maintenance work where access is limited.
