Rental companies looking to expand their offer with specialist high value machines are being advised to visit the Hird stand at Executive Hire Show 2026.
Hird Sales will have a selection of lifting, materials moving and access equipment perfectly positioned to freshen up rental fleets and open up profitable new income streams.
With rental margins for conventional hire equipment squeezed by tough competition and a sluggish economy, Hird Sales expects significant interest from forward-thinking rental specialists.
Improve margins and impress customers
Impressive machines on display on Stand A62 at the CBS Arena on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th February include the Oil&Steel Octoplus 17 spider lift, the Winlet 785 glazing robot, and the ErgoMover Wireless electric materials trolley.
Carl Cooper, Sales and After-Sales Manager at Hird Sales, said: “All these machines are the best in class and command premium rental returns, making them very attractive to hire companies.
“There are other advantages that make them attractive to rental customers. For example, Winlet glazing robots and electric trolleys greatly improve productivity, allowing users to do more with smaller teams.
“Hire companies we’re already working with are finding this makes for a compelling case when promoting the equipment to their customers, which also helps to keep utilisation rates high.”

Industry-leading spider lifts
Hird is the UK and Ireland distributor for Winlet, which manufactures ErgoMover electric trolleys, and the UK distributor for Oil&Steel platforms, which include spider lifts and self-drive truck mounted platforms.
The Octoplus 17 spider cherry picker commands some of the best rental rates for access equipment, as well as industry-leading performance, including a 17m working height and 7.6m outreach.
The highly versatile tracked MEWP is at the forefront of a trend to carry out building inspections and repairs from spider lifts, eliminating the need for costly scaffolding, increasing productivity and optimising safety.
As well as the Oil&Steel Octoplus 17, Hird Sales can supply the Octoplus 21, with a maximum working height of 20.7m, and the Octoplus 30, with a maximum working height of 29.6m.
More productive and safer glass lifting
The self-propelled battery electric Winlet 785 glazing robot delivers class-leading vacuum glass lifting with a maximum capacity of 785kg, and a maximum lifting height of 3970mm.
The machine has unrivalled ability to control and manipulate large glazed panels – as well as plastic and metal sheets – and place them with precision in apertures at any angle.
The glazing robot – one of a range with capacities from 375kg to 1000kg – can be operated by one person with a remote control unit to complete glazing tasks that might otherwise need a team of three or four people.
ErgoMover materials trolleys do for materials moving what the glazing robots do for glass lifting. The ErgoMover Wireless is operated by a wire-free remote control unit, with a lifting capacity of 1500kg.
All-terrain terrain materials moving
The battery electric trolley has all-terrain capability to carry materials and equipment across construction sites or across country, for example to take equipment to remote off-road locations.
Its load deck hydraulically lifts to pick up materials from trestles. It also rotates to be best positioned for rapid loading and unloading with minimal manual handling.
Tasks it excels at include carrying brick and block packs, wooden and steel beams, cladding panels, paving stones and aggregate bags, plus equipment like air conditioning units and telecoms antennae.
Other electric trolleys in the range include the ErgoMover Go EX, which is designed specifically for the powered access rental market, for easy transportation of ground protection mats.
While the ErgoMover Manipulator (maximum capacity 1200kg) can hydraulically lift and set down loads, and raise loads, such as plasterboard stacks, to a near vertical position for easy off-loading.
