A strong rental fleet is built around equipment that customers want to use again and again. For Scottish powered access specialist Nu-Hire, positive feedback on the Oil&Steel Octoplus range has led to further investment in both the Octoplus 17 and Octoplus 21 tracked booms.
Based in Livingston, West Lothian, Nu-Hire supplies powered access equipment across Scotland. Its growing collection of Octoplus platforms reflects the success another rental company is having with a class-leading product that combines compact access, a strong working envelope and practical features designed around the operator.
The two models give Nu-Hire’s customers a choice of working heights for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications. The Octoplus 17 provides a maximum working height of 17m and outreach of 7.6m, while the Octoplus 21 reaches 20.7m with up to 10.6m of outreach. Both offer a 250kg basket capacity and are just 785mm wide when stowed for tracking.
That narrow profile allows the platforms to pass through garden gates, doorways and other restricted access points. Wireless remote tracking also gives the operator the freedom to choose the clearest position when moving and setting up the platform, while variable outrigger placement and automatic levelling help make preparation more straightforward in tighter working areas or where ground conditions make set-up more challenging.
Their relatively low overall weight is another important advantage for a hire fleet. Both models can be transported on a standard 3.5-tonne plant trailer behind a suitable car, van or pick-up, giving Nu-Hire greater flexibility when delivering and collecting platforms across urban, rural and off-road locations.
Nu-Hire’s continued investment demonstrates the value Octoplus tracked booms can bring to powered access rental businesses. Read the full Nu-Hire Octoplus sales story to find out why customer feedback prompted the company to expand its fleet.
